Data and privacy in Study With Cat
These notes describe the current site and where its information is stored.
What the site saves in your browser
Study With Cat uses browser local storage for your task list, timer settings, current countdown, completed session count, daily focus time, wallpaper choice, clock format, kitten name, and music-player visibility preference. Your free desk stays local. The cat club also saves kitten styling, room combinations, subject focus history, goals, and mixer settings locally. Its no-payment preview does not create a paid membership.
Information saved this way is tied to the browser and website address. Clearing website data, using another browser, or moving to a new domain can start a fresh room. Data saved at a previous website address will not automatically appear at the new domain.
Your own music
An audio file selected through Your own music is played from a temporary local browser URL. The site does not upload the file. It must be selected again after reloading the page.
Hosting and fonts
The website’s hosting provider handles page and asset requests. Those requests can include ordinary network information such as your IP address and browser details. The site also loads fonts from Google Fonts. See Google Fonts privacy information for that service.
The public Vercel deployment uses Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and page views and understand referring sites and broad device or country information. The application does not include task text, kitten names, or selected music files in analytics events. Private previews do not load this analytics script. The site has no advertising scripts. Optional subscriptions are being prepared with Razorpay; checkout remains unavailable until the merchant account and payment service are connected. Razorpay handles payment details when checkout opens. The website must not receive or store card details or UPI PINs. See Vercel Web Analytics privacy information for details.
Optional accounts and shared rooms
When account services are enabled, Supabase handles email-code sign-in and stores your membership status. Signing in does not automatically upload your current desk. Choosing Save to my account uploads your cat-club room settings and study journal as a backup; restoring it replaces the local cat-club backup after confirmation. Your task list and selected audio files are not included.
Private study rooms share your kitten display name, presence, and the host timer with other room members. They do not share your email or task list. Treat invite codes as private: a Scholar Cat member with the code can join, up to six members. Rooms expire after 24 hours; the host leaving closes the room. Sign-in tokens are stored in your browser so you can stay signed in. Sign out on a shared computer.
Subscription records include the Razorpay subscription identifier, plan, renewal state, and paid-through date. The launch offer is limited to 30 paying member accounts across both plans, with a first-month discount only. Abandoned checkout reservations are released after Razorpay confirms cancellation or expiry.
Removing local study data
Use your browser’s settings to clear data for this website. That can remove saved tasks, the kitten name, settings, and study totals. It does not remove information your browser or the hosting provider manages independently.
